A beautiful large boulder opal and diamond ring which we have repurposed from a bar brooch to a ring, although we do believe it started life as a ring before being remade into a brooch!
The opal is a cabochon cut, solid boulder opal measuring approx. 18.40mm x 14.80mm. Estimated to weigh 4.96ct, the opal has a dark grey background with green, violet, orange play of colour. Rub over set into a white mount testing as 14ct white gold. To either side a square panel with millegrain border each set with an 8-cut diamond measuring approx. 2.7-2.8mm diameter. Estimated total carat weight of both diamonds 0.16ct, assessed I1 clarity and G/H colour.
The gemset panel tests as 14ct white gold and the band is 18ct white gold. Finger size 7.75 (US/Canada); P1/2 (UK/Australia) with some resizing possible.

The trend that is Shop Local (Shop Locally for the grammar purists!) has taken off with the advent of Covid-19. Shop local is a way to help maintain the vibrancy of where you live and keeping local employtment figures healthy. Of course, not every item you wish to buy is available in your local town, and that's where the internet is helpful. Online shopping with an independent business has similar benefits to the Shop Local idea.
