An antique diamond and pearl bangle from the Victorian era. Of stunningly beautiful design the bangle is rub-over and claw set with a double row of alternating old cut diamonds and round natural half pearls across the front half. A total of 21 diamonds, measuring betwen approx. 4.26mm x 4.35mm and 3.00mm x 2.90mm, combine to give a total carat weight of approx. 5.0ct. The colour and clarity of the stones has been assessed as G-I and SI1-I1. The pearls measure between 4.60mm and 3.00mm diameter.
The gem-set front section continues to Etruscan style patterned shoulders to a plain polished ridged reverse, tongue snap clasp complete with safety chain. No hallmark, impressed with a stamp reading "18", testing and assessed as approximately 18ct yellow gold throughout. With an age dating from the 1890s to about 1910 the bangle is in very good condition.
A spectacular piece worthy of inclusion in any antique jewellery collection. Weight 33.70gms.
