An antique garnet and pearl cluster ring in the Georgian style. Dating from the 1850s, the ring is centrally set with a fully rub-over set, oval cabochon cut almandine garnet, measuring approx. 11.60mm x 6.10mm. Set within a rose gold collet with millegrain edging, the garnet is surrounded by 19 white/grey seed pearls, measuring between 2.0mm and 2.2mm diameter, to a beaded and scalloped edges oval rose cluster head, with flattened rose gold colour metal tapering shoulders and shank.
The head of the ring measures approx. 12.60mm wide, tapering to 3.85mm at the base of the band. The ring is not hallmarked but has been subjected to XRF testing which shows it be approx. 9ct rose gold. Age circa 1850s and in very good condition with only minor wear to the head of the ring as can be expected in an antique piece of this age.
