An exquisite emerald and diamond set brooch created at the turn of the 20th Century. Featuring a millegrain set, cushion-shaped, trap cut emerald of medium green colour, measuring 6.10mm x 6.10mm x 3.86mm deep, and mounted to a scroll decorated white fronted open work panel. The panel is additionally grain set with 39 old Swiss/cushion shaped old European cut diamonds measuring from 2.00mm x 2.00mm to 3.30mm x 3.20mm approx. The brooch is white fronted with attached wire work bail, for adding a chain, and also has the addition of a brooch fastening. Stamped 14ck to the clasp, stamped to the side with Austro Hungarian control marks, marked "in Graz", testing as approx. 14ct gold and sterling silver. Circa 1900.
