An antique ring dating from the later years of the Victorian era set to the centre with a stunningly beautiful oval shaped, mixed cut sapphire with an old European cut diamond and two rose cut diamonds to each side. All the gemstones are claw set in yellow gold to an ornately carved mount, grooved shoulders and plain D shaped band. The sapphire has an estimated weight of 1.28ct whilst the diamonds combine to weigh approximately 0.85ct and are assessed as having G-I colour and SI1/SI2 clarity. The has been handmade and although as often seen with antique jewellery there is no hallmark, it reacts to tests as 18ct yellow gold. Finger size 5 1/8 (US/Canada); K (UK/Australia).
